Andy Parfitt

Facilities Manager

Hi, I’m Andy—Caroline’s husband and sidekick in running Oak Therapies. My career began in construction, where I spent over 30 years building and fixing things, before making a big shift in 2020 to become a foster carer. These days, I take care of the facilities here, making sure everything is safe, welcoming, and ready for the people who use our space. Think of me as part handyman, part caretaker, and part maker of endless cups of tea.

One of my favourite parts of the job is involving community members in projects that shape Oak Therapies. Together we’ve built owl boxes, floating duck houses, and all sorts of creative additions to the land. It’s amazing how a simple workshop session can turn into something that gives people a real sense of pride and belonging. I get to blend practical skills with a community spirit, which suits me down to the ground.

For me, Oak Therapies is more than just a workplace—it’s home. This land has been in Caroline’s family since the 1950s, and watching it transform into a space where people feel safe, valued, and encouraged has been incredible. Just like the oak trees around us, we’ve grown something solid and enduring here.
