The Story of Oak Therapies
Hello, I’m Caroline Parfitt, founder and Director of Oak Therapies.
Oak Therapies is a result of combining my passion for Occupational Therapy and wanting to share my beautiful family home with the community. I have worked as a successful independent Occupational Therapist since 2016, and in 2011 I moved into the bungalow with my husband and family, where we developed the property into what it is today.
I grew up in Tenterden, Kent and learned how to ride horses and ponies from a very young age. Like a true Kentish girl, the countryside has always been my haven, my place where I go to connect with nature to find peace and tranquillity.
Originally farmland, my aunt and uncle built the bungalow in the 1950s, and the property has stayed within our family ever since. In 2020 my dream became a reality, and Oak Therapies was born. We created a beautiful, safe space to share with the community offering exceptional outdoor therapies
for anyone who needs our help.
Oak Therapies got its name from the oak trees that surround the property. They all started as small acorns and grew into beautiful, resilient, reliable and solid structures. I used to sit in the rear field thinking about how symbolic the oak tree was. I wanted to create a safe space where you could grow and develop just like an acorn.
It brings me immense joy that since 2020, Oak Therapies has been a place where our community members can flourish.
