Theraputic Provision
An alternative solution
We know that traditional schooling doesn’t always fit every child, which is why our Alternative Provision exists. As a KCC provider, we’ve created a nurturing, outdoor-led approach that blends therapy, enrichment, and development. Every service is bespoke and led by occupational therapists, who take the time to understand each child’s unique needs and break things down into steps that feel achievable. With 1:1 support at the heart of what we do, children are given the space to learn, grow, and find their confidence in ways that make sense to them.
Our focus is always on moving forward—helping children progress not just in education, but in life. Whether it’s creative projects, hands-on experiences in nature, or therapeutic time with animals, every session is designed to enrich, inspire, and build resilience. We’re proud that our provision isn’t just about offering an alternative to school; it’s about opening doors, creating opportunities, and giving children—and their families—the tools to thrive well beyond Oak Therapies.
Equine care
We are developing an equine care course that is accessible for everybody, delivered through our bespoke approach. We’re passionate about teaching people the joy and responsibility of looking after horses—whether that’s groundwork, grooming, or spending time with these incredible animals.
As part of this, we’re working closely with other equine services, including a riding school and a rehabilitation centre. This gives our alternative provision members the chance to continue their journey beyond Oak Therapies, further developing their skills and confidence as part of their overall growth and development process.
AQA Awards
Here at Oak Therapies, we’re proud to deliver a wide range of curriculums through the AQA Unit Award Scheme (UAS). This nationally recognised programme allows learners to receive formal recognition for completing short, skills-based units across a variety of subjects. What makes the scheme so special is its flexibility—every achievement, no matter how small, is valued and celebrated.
Our AQA Awards cover everything from equine care and pig care to woodwork, horticulture, and much more. Each unit is tailored to meet the needs of the individual, providing structured opportunities for learning that build confidence, independence, and practical life skills. By combining our enrichment model with the UAS framework, we give every child and young person the chance to progress at their own pace, gaining meaningful recognition along the way.
